NO FAIL FUDGE

Old-fashioned candy at its best. When my kids were all at home we made this almost every Friday night.

2 cups sugar
3 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup evaporated milk
1/3 cup white Karo syrup
2 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pecans (optional)

Mix all together in a large saucepan and bring to complete
rolling boil and time for exactly three minutes, stirring constantly.
Cool and beat until thick and pour in buttered plate. Cool and cut
in squares. For variety, stir in a tablespoon or two of peanut butter
before beating. Yum!
